Published on 1st November 2019, the Good Food Award for Fish & Chips recognises the hard-working teams who strive for culinary excellence within their field. With some 10,500 Fish & Chip Shops / Restaurants within the UK, competition for the Good Food Award for Fish & Chips was unsurprisingly tough. A record number of UK food premises brought a record number of entrants and winners. Some 10,277 votes were cast for the finalists by readers, customers and fish ‘n’ chip fans alike!

Based upon customer feedback, nominations and votes, Oliver’s Fish and Chips Restaurant and Takeaway have demonstrated exceptional levels of food quality, service and value when compared to the industry benchmarks in their category.

In recognition of this achievement, Oliver’s are delighted to confirm that Oliver’s Fish and Chips Restaurant and Takeaway have made it into the annual Good Food Awards and have attained the accolade “2020 Good Food Award Winner for Fish & Chips”

Oliver’s Fish and Chips Restaurant and Takeaway is one of only two establishments in the Teesside area to boast the 2020 accolade.Customer service at Oliver’s is always of the highest quality; the Oliver’s Crew is a 24-strong team of residents of Redcar, dedicated and committed to serving the finest quality fish ‘n’ chips on the North East coast.

Michael and Helen, co-owners of Oliver’s, were over the moon to find out that they had been nominated for the Good Food Award and put it down to their high quality ingredients; “We only use the best locally sourced potatoes, and all of our cod and haddock is MSC Certified and sourced from sustainable fishing grounds” explained Helen.. “Michael is a passionate fryer who learned the skill from his father; he has perfected the recipe for a light crispy batter – something he hopes to pass down to our son Oliver in time!”
