STAR EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR 2024 – VOTED BY HELEN, MICHAEL & OLIVER
In line with our staff voting for their ‘Star Employee of the Year’ we also vote as business owners to who we think should be recognised for all their hard-work and commitment throughout the year.
We appreciate each and every one of our members of staff – they may be with us long term, or there may be individuals who come to work for us for weekend work, or work in between their time at university or college. That being the case, we are always reviewing their work performance, their general attitude and how they interact with their colleagues. We also look at how they deal with customers and their customer skills, how they work under pressure and their general overall performance throughout the year.
We decided to acknowledge two wonderful ladies this year and this is why:
Farran (Counter Assistant)
Farran has worked for us for over ten years now, Farran is amazing… she is extremely reliable, a highly committed individual and someone who we can say is a pinnacle part of the crew here at Olivers Takeaway and the overall team. Her support to us as business owners is something we both truly appreciate; she is someone who represents Oliver’s to the highest of standards and whenever she is on shift she controls her area to an exceptional level. Her ‘Customer Service’ skills are second to none, she is warm, friendly and extremely efficient. She always doubts herself when training new people, however what she doesn’t realise is we always go to Farran for the training as she is the one we want everyone to learn from.
Sarah Gratton (Restaurant Supervisor)
Where to do we start with Sarah wow, this amazing lady is someone who has grown and grown during her time here at Oliver’s. She has been with us now since…… and during this time her skills have developed year on year. From a lady who was quiet and kept herself to herself, she is now an individual who is a pinnacle part of the team here at Olivers.
Sarah originally joined us as a Counter Assistant in the Takeaway, and she took to this role fantastically. We then trained her as a Kitchen Preparer in the Restaurant, and she did amazing in this role. Sarah doubts herself a lot of the time, however her demeanour portrays as a ‘cool cucumber’ so you would never know. However, we know that Sarah has so much strength and her work ethic is exceptional, that is why we then asked her if she would like to train as Restaurant Supervisor. In true Sarah style she took to it amazingly, and we could not thank her enough – Sarah you have been amazing this year and it is a pleasure to see you grow year by year, you should also be very proud of yourself as we are very proud of you.

STAR EMPLOYEE’S OF THE YEAR 2023 – VOTED BY THE STAFF
So instead of doing an ‘Employee of the Month’ for December, we have now started a new tradition for the end of the year. So we now ask our staff members internally who they would choose as their ‘STAR Employee of the Year’.
The votes have been counted and verified, and there is only one winner this year…… this individual won hands down with the overall votes and we are so pleased to announce that Eve Edwards (Fryer) is the lucky winner.
Eve a huge ‘Well Done’ to you, we received some amazing feedback from your work colleagues and this is what they said….
“Please can I vote for Eve cos she’s an absolute joy to work with, she supports us all on shift if we get stressed the same way we support her. She’s stepped into the fryer role brilliantly and has really found her voice, her confidence has grown so much xx” – Sadie Fisher, Waitress/ Counter Assistant.
“I would like to vote for Eve because she always gets the best compliments from the customers in the Restaurant when she is frying and she is just a brill, fab worker to work with in general. She works so many hours and always puts her best into each shift so I genuinely think she deserves it” – Nicole Graham, Pot Washer/ Waitress.
“I would like to vote for Eve because she is one of my favourite people to be on shift with, and she has always been so supportive and friendly with everyone around her and she has done so well with becoming a Fryer” – Ellie Daggett, Counter Assistant.
“My vote is for Eve, I have chosen Eve as she really has flourished these last few years, taking herself out of her conform zone to learn new things and skills, and having recently completed her fryer training. She always has a smile on her face and is an absolute pleasure to work with, and a shift in the restaurant wouldn’t be the same with our morning Grease sing-along to get us ready for the day lol” – Sarah Gratton, Restaurant Supervisor.
A huge congratulations to you Eve on everything you have accomplished this year, you are doing amazing, and we are so proud of you.
Have a wonderful Christmas break and all the best for 2025, enjoy your £25 Love2Shop voucher!!!
